The Larkspur Church Monumental Signs are done and Installed!

Thank you to Bella Casa Countertops, Altitude Steel, Fisher Enterprises and Omnicut Waterjet for their contributions

The design chosen, as seen above, was option 8 of 9 that I presented to the client. From there, I began to consider the options for symbolism, functionality, and purpose.

In the logo sign, I wanted to incorporate elements to compliment their design. The 24 vertical pipes which are intentional in number and spacing mimic rising spirits and were spaced to create an optical illusion as you drive past in either direction. The tops of the pipes are welded stainless steel that I polished strategically. Granite slabs, not in the original design, were needed to ground the scene and also shaddow some mountains in the area.

The letter sign carries design elements and symbology that nod to torii shrines yet make way for the 6 columns capped in stainless steel.  The number 6 in numerology, invites us to nurture empathy, understanding and self-awareness when working through problems.  The church also wanted an area to display seasonal banners. The supports above the Larkspur Church letters incorporate some marine grade stainless steel grommet clips with tension adjusters.

I hope to strategically install some solar lighting with the church this summer as they landscape around the knoll.
